  1. nice portrait, though the Buddha usually has a calmer expression…the eyes are meditative…the image is overall powerful.

    • Thanks! I wanted to keep his eyes open in order to emphasize that the Buddha’s meditation is not about getting into a trance but is tempered with a focus on wisdom.

  2. true, though the archetypal image with the serene expression is the image one usually conjures, reminiscent of the poem…despite all the chaos around you…in the world…to be at peace with yourself and the world, follow the middlepath.

  3. meditation (prayer-trance) elevates that state…reaching out to the higher chakras, or higher states of consciouness thus, constantly reinstating that state where one lives with higher consciousness and awareness.

  4. The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.

When we are unhurried and wise, we perceive that only great and worthy things have any permanent and absolute existence, that petty fears and petty pleasures are but the shadow of the reality.
